The Fifth Sun Project was founded by a group of women, the organization’s main focus is on improving the lives of underrepresented communities on the East Side, To achieve this goal, the Fifth Sun Project alongside The Solidarity Fridge who were united by a mutual friendship bond, have undertaken a number of initiatives including cleanups, food prep, and distribution of such food or hygiene products for the East Side community. In addition to these activities, the organizations are also working on a native plant-based food recipe booklet with local artists, for the community to make healthier choices.

The Solidarity fridge has a separate project that works to provide food and other resources to underrepresented communities, particularly those on the East Side. The Solidarity fridge is stocked with fresh food and other necessities and is available to anyone who needs it. It has become so popular since its inception that it now has its own community garden that not only provides for the fridge but as well gives a safe space for the local creative and artistic community.

Both the Fifth Sun Project and The Solidarity fridge are dedicated to improving the lives of underserved communities on the East Side and promoting environmental sustainability. Through their various initiatives and programs, these organizations are working to create a more just and equitable society in the East Side community.
